WHAT WE DOPeakPower Long Island works with municipalities to develop programs that align with the Municipal Sustainability Plan. We design programs that produce tangible results. PPLI is guided by the targets set forth in the New York State Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, which established the environmentally critical standard of 70% renewable electricity by 2030.
PeakPower LI assists municipal teams in developing renewable energy policies and building codes. We collaborate with municipal staff to design and execute programs that will educate, inspire, and support communities to make the transition as easy as possible. We leverage industry best practices, NYSERDA, and LIPA/PSEGLI programs to motivate constituent action and measured results. Read about our local and growing community partners HERE. |

Community Choice AggregationCCA enables municipalities to join together to aggregate the buying power of residents and dictate the terms of how they buy electricity. By pooling local demand, municipalities can negotiate more favorable terms, designate preferred generation from renewable sources, and select a default energy service company for the community.
PPLI's President introduced Community Choice Aggregation on Long Island. Southampton Town was the first to adopt the enabling legislation, followed by the Towns of Hempstead and Brookhaven. PPLI provides CCA education for municipal leaders and civic groups across Long Island. PPLI is currently campaigning to motivate grassroots support to encourage the LIPA Board of Trustees to vote 'yes' for the CCA Tariff at the 2020 May Board Meeting. Thank you all for your support!
